I tried, but it didn't meet my needs. I have 3 albums of songs recorded on a zoom mrs-8 with parallel sequences done with cakewalk express.
It read the midi files all right, but when I tried to add the audio tracks from the zoom, it automatically adjusted the tempo of the audio tracks, which, since it was already at the right tempo, caused it to be off.
After a week of trying every option I could find, I gave up and bought cakewalk sonar x3, which handled the job without a problem. It is easy to use and the mixer has a lot of headroom on each track and produces a good sound. I have used the other Acid, and this is not it. The other had time stretching to make bpm clips into bpm clips, this one does NOT do that.
But it works as advertised. I'll probably go for the PRO version at a later date. MarkH Top Contributor: Guitars. Works ok when it works, but freezes up, and causes menu artifacts from all my programs after I have crashed out. Have to reboot my computer after running this program to get my computer back to normal.
Trying Reaper instead. I bought this program but it says there is already another user and it would not let me open the program so I had to do the 30 day registration, this is not a fair practice since I purchased the program. I had full acid pro 6 I think, and lost the installation discs in a flood, so I got the trial for this to mess around again. I liked it, it was easy to pick up the changes in the interface and when I get around to being serious about composing some music again, I'm definitely buying the license.
One person found this helpful. Hard to understand how to use without reading the tutorials. I should read the tutorials which is a screen with everything tutorial related when you open the program. So if you want something quick and easy to learn this might not be for you.
